LENOX, MA — June 6, 2026 — Lenox will host its first-ever Pride celebration this June, marking a historic milestone for the town and celebrating the 10th anniversary of Berkshire Pride. The event is a collaborative effort between Berkshire Pride, Drag Story Hour, the Lenox Chamber of Commerce, the Lenox Community Center, Doctor Sax House, The Berk Sirs, and community partners.
Centered around the theme “Love Lives in Lenox,” the celebration reflects the town’s growing commitment to inclusivity, visibility, and community connection.“When I envision Lenox, I see a beautiful tapestry woven together by different people, stories, and experiences,” said Sarah Goodberlet, Executive Director of the Lenox Chamber of Commerce. “Pride is a reflection of that spirit, celebrating connection, inclusion, and belonging. It is a meaningful moment for our community and a reminder of what makes Lenox so special.”
The day-long celebration begins with a Pride Picnic at Lilac Park at 10:00 a.m., featuring family-friendly activities including a Children’s Creativity Corner, Story Garden, and opportunities for residents and visitors to gather, connect, and celebrate together.
As evening arrives, the celebration moves to The Belvedere for “Rumpy’s Returns,” a tribute to Lenox’s beloved nightlife past featuring dancing, Drag Bingo, karaoke, and live entertainment.
“Rumpy’s was never just a bar. It was a sanctuary for some, a gathering place for many, and a place where everyone belonged,” said David McDaniel and Stephen Edlund of The Berk Sirs, hosts of Rumpy’s Returns. “Though its doors have closed, that spirit remains alive. This event honors those who made it special and celebrates the love that continues to live in Lenox.”
For many involved, the event carries deep personal significance.
“As a young gay professional living and working in Lenox, this moment feels incredibly meaningful,” said Anthony Feola, Chief of Staff for Doctor Sax House, dulu Restaurant & Bar, and The Commonwealth Exchange. “Helping shape this inaugural Pride is about more than hosting an event. It’s about creating a space where people feel seen, celebrated, and that they truly belong. Watching this come to life in a town already rich with creativity and community is both affirming and inspiring.”
The celebration also serves as a meaningful addition to Berkshire Pride’s milestone year.
